"Standing on the Shoulders of Giants"
Minneapolis Commodores Riser Project
In early 2019, the Minneapolis Commodores purchased a new set of risers to address some safety issues with our old ones. In conjunction with this, we decided to initiate a program that would allow a chorus member (sponsor) to thank those who helped them somewhere on their musical journey. This would involve “purchasing” a riser step and installing the name of that individual on that step. These honorees could be a teacher, choral/music director, an inspirational quartet, someone whose time and expertise helped build Barbershopping in the chapter, or maybe someone who was there to provide a gentle nudge in the right direction when you needed it.
These individuals and groups (those giants upon whose shoulders we will now figuratively and literally stand) have made a difference in our lives and to all of them, especially those who continue to inspire us today, we owe a great deal of heartfelt thanks.
Below is a link list of the current honorees that grace our riser steps. To learn more about the honoree, just click on the link. ENJOY!
